Alcohol has a destructive effect on all the organs in our body. Every year, 3.5 million people die from alcohol-related causes. Alcohol, which has serious damages on all organs and systems from liver to lung, heart to brain, starts to have a destructive effect by reaching all cells 3 minutes after it is taken into the body.

Sound

Alcohol reduces the amount of water in the body. The dehydration of the body is negatively reflected in the voice, speech and singing. Alcohol use leads to cough, hoarseness, and  a thick voice with low pitch.

Vascular health

Alcohol is a toxic substance. As its consumption increases, it causes vascular stiffness and vasoconstriction; it damages all organs in the body.

Sleep

Sleep patterns and sleep quality of the person using alcohol are impaired. Alcohol use often leads to waking up and not falling into deep sleep.

Mouth

Causes alcohol, dry mouth, bad breath, impaired sense of taste, oral infections and gum diseases.

Nose

Alcohol use causes nosebleeds due to decreased sense of smell, fracture or rupture of the capillaries around the nose.

Heart

Alcohol causes arrhythmia, arthritis and heart failure in the heart.

Stomach

Alcohol ranks first among the factors that cause various stomach disorders and digestive disorders. In the long run, it causes gastritis, ulcers and gastritis.

Liver

Alcohol has a toxic effect on the liver. Liver cells are damaged by alcohol and undergo structural changes. Alcohol-induced liver diseases most simply result in liver fattening, followed by alcohol-induced hepatitis, and ultimately cirrhosis.

Lung

The risk of tuberculosis is 28 times higher in those who use alcohol. Acute lung inflammation may occur due to gastric contents escaping into the lungs during vomiting.

Pregnancy

Alcohol use causes fetal alcohol syndrome in the baby in the womb and damages the baby’s brain and heart development. If pregnant women drink alcohol, the alcohol mixes with the blood and reaches the fetus through the placenta. It may cause birth defects such as growth retardation in the baby, damage to the brain and nervous system. Alcohol negatively affects the fetus at every stage, but causes much more serious damages, especially in the first months.

Skin

Alcohol causes redness and swelling due to dilation of the veins and more blood coming to the skin. Causes permanent redness of the skin.

Brain

Alcohol negatively affects brain functions. In the short term, it may lead to accidents that may even result in death due to impaired thinking, decision making and ability to act. In the long run, it leads to dementia as a result of the death of brain cells.

Eye

Alcohol affects the visual nerves from the brain to the eye, causes yellowing and numbness in the pupil, and creates damage that can lead to blindness in the eyes with visual disorders.

Reproduction

Alcohol leads to disorders in the reproductive system in men and women. While alcohol use has a sexual power reducing effect on men, it causes impotence.
